so lately i've been recording my own stories as part of a project inspired from my own love of talk radio. some of my favorite ones are the ones i record via telephone, there is something about that tunneled tinny sound that just makes me swoon. recently i caught up with all of the tal episodes and ive been trying a different show to work through their archives. a few have been enjoyable but i dont feel that ol tal spark- except with Jonathan Goldstein's Wiretap. A frequent contributor on TAL, and a producer of two years he went on to create this canadian show. described as "a weekly half-hour of conversation, storytelling and introspection, culled from equal parts real-world experience and the warp of Goldstein's imagination.", the show often plays off of themes conducted by telephone conversations between jonathan and his friends and family. its hilarious and neurotic and just wonderful. and its only 30 minutes compared to majority of the hourly shows i listen to. give it a try if you are bored one day!
