the other day the 3 babytiger authors gathered around the television to tune in and watch inside the actor's studio with guest, judd apatow. for whatever reason i started crying as judd told his story of his rise to fame. at some point sarah turns to me and asks "are you actually crying?" this question has plagued many of my multimedia experiences where i often become emotionally distraught over fluff stories. maybe im just a sucker for happy endings (or not happy endings- i often cry when things aren't going right for the main characters).
movies where this question has also been asked when the answer has been more than obvious have included but are not limited to:
i was also recently listening to an episode of this american life where brett martin reports on the phenomenon of crying while watching movies on airplanes. tune in at 46.35 to hear it. my last airplane/movie experience was the secret lives of bees and boy was i bawling.
