There's this great story by Pliny telling ancient Roman women that if they cut open "a third type of spider" there will be two worms inside. If they wear one worm around their neck they won't get pregnant. Birth control has come a long way! "Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Everyyydayyy...."
Umm yeahh so the spider motif obv reminded me of that
